Clackamas Mall Shooter was stopped by CCW holder

I'm sure the national news media will do their very best to sweep this down the memory hole, but the truth is that an armed society is safer than a disarmed one.

The media and the Democrats are going to work overtime to spin the Connecticut school shooting into a reason to eliminate our Second Amendment rights. The end result will be MORE dead people, not less, but they aren't going to try to ban guns to make us safer, they wish to ban them to make THEM safer from us.

Clackamas man, armed, confronts mall shooter

PORTLAND -- Nick Meli is emotionally drained.  The 22-year-old was at Clackamas Town Center with a friend and her baby when a masked man opened fire.
"I heard three shots and turned and looked at Casey and said, 'are you serious?,'" he said.
The friend and baby hit the floor.  Meli, who has a concealed carry permit, positioned himself behind a pillar.
"He was working on his rifle," said Meli.  "He kept pulling the charging handle and hitting the side."
The break in gunfire allowed Meli to pull out his own gun, but he never took his eyes off the shooter.
"As I was going down to pull, I saw someone in the back of the Charlotte move, and I knew if I fired and missed, I could hit them," he said.
Meli took cover inside a nearby store.  He never pulled the trigger.  He stands by that decision.
"I'm not beating myself up cause I didn't shoot him," said Meli.  "I know after he saw me, I think the last shot he fired was the one he used on himself."
The gunman was dead, but not before taking two innocent lives with him and taking the innocence of everyone else.
"I don't ever want to see anyone that way ever," said Meli.  "It just bothers me."

An open letter to today's youth.

Dear "Sorry generation",

I am sorry that no one ever said "no" to you. We plied you with video games to keep you quiet. A lot of those games were so violent that you might of been traumatized but we never said no to you because we wanted you to "fit in" or maybe we just wanted to be your "friend" instead of your parent.

Sorry that we gave everyone an award at the sports event. You missed a basic lesson in pride and achievement, that even if you weren't the star player, you could have tried harder, like Michael Jordan did after he was cut from his freshman basketball team. We all have adversity- but you wouldn't know that, because we indulged in the sense of entitlement that you felt you were "owed". You'll never know that sense of accomplishment when you "beat the odds".

Sorry that we allowed you to participate in "social media"- it left you with no social skills and no real friends. We stopped showing you after school specials w/morality lessons- because we didn't want to "impose" our morals. We mocked guys like Tim Tebow and idolized Charlie Sheen. We bred you on witches, vampires, ghost and zombies and then wonder why you don't respect human life.

Sorry we never made you say the "Pledge of Allegiance". The lesson was less about "under God" and more about that a pledge was your bond and allegiance was loyalty- both qualities you lack.

We should have taught you to be pro choice. Pro choice, not referring to abortion but that no matter what has been done to you- you have a CHOICE to be moral, decent, ethical person.

Sorry we have become a society that blamed everything from conservatives, liberals, immigrants, native peoples, gays, straights, the rich, the poor, wifi, dial up, doctors, police, lawyers, comedians, actors, athletes, and even Emeniem for the problem.

We searched for answers that were right in front of us.

We failed you and now YOU are the problem.

Grover Norquist: Second Tea Party Wave Coming

7 Reasons To Be Optimistic

Lately there's been a lot of doom and gloom out there. Here at The Iron Lady Blog we're going to try to post more positive stories. We won't ignore the ugly truths out there, but let's not dwell on them and let's not assume that there is only bad and no good.

What follows is an article posted on Doug Giles' Clash Daily Blog.

7 Reasons To Be Optimistic About America’s Future

By Clash Daily / 27 November 2012

1) The reelection of Barack Obama has the potential to be a turning point. Despite Barack Obama being a mean-spirited, habitually dishonest socialist who was presiding over a terrible economy and a record of incompetence unprecedented in America’s history, he was reelected anyway. This should be a wake-up call for the Republican Party. The GOP’s messaging, choice of candidates, fidelity to its principles and most importantly, minority outreach just isn’t good enough. The same goes for results the deep pocketed donors in the party are getting for their contributions. Their money isn’t being used wisely. The grassroots have now been alerted that just showing up at a Tea Party isn’t good enough either. Social conservatives and the Christian church should be shocked out of their complacency as well. Although Obama seems likely to make a mess of things in his second term, that will give the American people more insight into the wages of liberalism while the Republican majority in the House and the three conservatives and two right leaning moderates on the Supreme Court will hopefully keep Obama from doing too much damage. God willing, as terrible as Barack Obama’s election seems to be for the country today, it will turn out to be a positive turning point.

2) Technology and resource acquisition may advance faster than we anticipate. Did you know the United States is the Saudi Arabia of shale oil? We have the potential not just to become almost self-sufficient, but to become a net exporter of oil. Granted, that probably won’t happen under the liberal Luddites in the White House today, but it’s just a matter of time until this nation’s energy potential is unlocked. We could also conceivably pass Russia in natural gas production as early as 2015. When you couple that with technological advances right out of science fiction in 3D printing, algae based fuel, nearly cost-free medical diagnostics, vertical farming and robotics, we may have the ability to do better than most people expect over the next few decades.

3) We’re in a stronger position than many people realize. America still has the world’s largest economy and the most powerful military. The dollar is the world’s reserve currency; we’re still the single most attractive destination for immigrants and we have the world’s best customer base for other nations to target. We have more soft power and cultural influence than any other nation in the world and we’re still the planet’s only Super Power. Weaknesses? We have plenty, but we shouldn’t disregard our nation’s truly massive strengths.

4) We may move slowly, but we will eventually adjust. What Winston Churchill said about Americans is all too often true, “Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing…after they have exhausted all other possibilities.” As a nation, we have a terrible habit of waiting until a crisis strikes before we take decisive, albeit poorly-thought-out action to deal with it. Then over time, we get around to dealing with the devils in the details. In other words, we tend to take a lot of damage that could have been prevented with quicker action, but history shows that we do eventually address our problems.

5) There’s no other nation ready to take our place as a Super Power. Japan’s population has gotten very old, very fast. Western Europe has larger problems with big government, economic productivity, demographics and debt than we do. China is still growing, but the country looks increasingly unstable and seems highly unlikely to continue its rapid growth over the next few decades. Additionally, Russia and India seem likely to remain as regional powers for the foreseeable future. In other words, this isn’t the Cold War where our loss would mean that another great power would be waiting to step in and shove us aside. Losing our Super Power status would be far from ideal, but it would still be preferable to living in a world dominated by Russia, China or Europe.

6) We’ve been through bad times before and we’re still here. This country has survived a Revolutionary War against the world’s most powerful nation that was fought in our own territory, another fight against the Brits during the War of 1812 in which they burned the White House and came close to capturing the American northeast, a Civil War that pitted the northern and southern halves of the country against each other, not just one, but two world wars, a decade long Great Depression and a Cold War against the Soviet Union in which we had enough nuclear weapons pointed at each other to wipe out life on earth. After all that, we’re still standing strong. A debt driven crisis could make things very tough for us over the next few decades, but our history says we’ll pull ourselves up by our bootstraps when it’s over.

7) The wheels of history turn awfully slowly. Since history is such a long period of time and we human beings live such comparatively short lives, we often overestimate the speed with which a problem will overtake us. As to great nations, they can splutter on for an extraordinarily lengthy time before finally falling to pieces. Just to name the most famous example of this, Rome was founded in the 8th Century BC, became a republic in the 6th Century BC, ceased to be a republic in the 1st Century BC, and split into two halves in the 3rd Century AD. The Western half of the Roman Empire was overrun in the 5th Century AD, the last Roman emperor visited Rome in the 7th Century AD, and the Eastern Roman Empire finally fell to the Turks in the 15th Century AD. Does that mean the United States should be fine for another thousand years or so? No, but it means that devastating problems we spot today that look immediately threatening may sometimes take decades or even centuries longer than we expect to flower into devastation.

The Art of Being a Happy Warrior

The Art of Being a Happy Warrior

When we celebrate Thanksgiving in a little over a week, after being thankful for family and friends, for health and comfort, for food and shelter, it may be time to be thankful for the left.

I have seen far too much despair and defeatism, too many comments that suggest there is no hope for America and the only thing left to do is pour a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. I understand the place of despair and pain that such words come from. But they also testify to how sheltered Americans are from the cold winds outside.

Eight years of Obama is bad, no doubt. But try sixty-nine years of Communism on for size. That’s what generations of Russians had to live through. Ask some of the conservative activists in Europe who have never had any of the freedoms that we still take for granted whether they’ve given up hope. Ask people from countries where criticism of Islam can mean a jail sentence and homeschooling is illegal whether they’ve given up hope.

There are countless tales of courage over the last century of men and women who did not stop fighting and did not stop teaching their children so that they would not stop resisting. And those stories have not ended. They are taking place today in Europe. They are taking place in South America. And those people would envy the conditions under which we fight without being shot or sent to prison. Where we are, compared to 100 percent of the rest of the world, still free.

We face a hard fight, not only for our freedom, but the freedom of the world. The international left has made America its special project. It knows that if it can extinguish the hope of liberty in this land then it will drive the rest of those who hope for freedom across the ocean deeper into despair. And it wants your despair. It wants you to give up so that the rest of the world gives up too and bows under its chains.

And yet this fight is a glorious one. This fight is our birthright. And we should be thankful for the fight.

It would be more pleasant if there were no Obama or Axelord. If Alinsky had never been born and Marx had never been whelped. It would be nice if we lived in a world where red were just a color and the Democratic Party were a rural movement suspicious of the federal government and dreaming of an agrarian utopia. But then so would never having to work for a living or getting up out of bed.

Life is challenge and we face all kinds of different challenges. We get up early out of bed in the morning and drive to work. We rise in the middle of the night when the baby cries and we go to the hospital when our loved ones need us there. And we do these things not only because they are our duty, but because these challenges make us who we are.

Besides these prosaic challenges, the daily routines and the occasional tragedies, there are uncommon challenges that we face when the foe comes to our gate and demands that we bow and become slaves. This is the challenge that we face as a society, a nation and a people. It calls to more of us and in that it also ennobles us. It makes us a great people and a great nation, rather than only another people who seek to live in comfort with no thought for anything else.

Good emerges in response to evil. We need our enemies to remind us of who we are and what we can do when our backs are against the wall. We need evil to remind us of the good that we are capable of. As a whetstone sharpens a sword, so evil sharpens us into a weapon against it. It makes us morally stronger and teaches us the stark truths that we cannot take refuge from evil; we must confront it.

If there were no left, would there be nearly as much patriotism among true Americans as there is now? And if there were no left, how many of us would really contemplate the core principles of freedom and free enterprise? If there were no left, how many of us would ponder what we truly believe and what compromises we are willing and unwilling to make? If there were no left, would we be the same people that we are today?

Would we value freedom as much if we did not have to defend it? Would we hold it as dear if we did not fear that it would be taken away? Would we even be aware of what freedom is and what a free people must be if not for the dark hand of those who wish to strip us of those freedoms?

It is the left’s opposition that has added urgency to a hundred issues, from the national debt to the War on Terror to freedom of speech and of religion. It has made us think about those issues, it has caused us to take them out of the back of our minds and hold them up to the light as a reminder of how important they are and what must be done about them.

War is the great teacher and this is a political war, short on bodies and heavy on minds, it is a war in which casualties are not taken in the chest or the arm, but in the mind, in reason and emotion, and against these weaknesses, we can and will prevail.

As we fight the left, we become stronger, more dedicated and more purposeful. We become the men and women that we were meant to be.

As you sit around your tables, thinking of all that you have gained and lost this year, remember and be thankful for the left, for though the winter ice gives way to the summer sun and bitter defeat gives way to sweet victory, it is defeat and hardship that teaches better than comfort and ease. We can learn more from our defeats than we ever could from our victories. Our defeats teach us endurance and fortitude, they teach us that defeat can be borne and that its sting can be turned into the weapon that unseats the foe. And our foes make us who we are.

Their evil teaches us to find the good within ourselves. Their strength teaches us to find our own strength. And their plots against what we have teach us how many treasures we have, not least of these being the full value of our freedom and our happiness that they wish to take from us. Their war on America is teaching us to be better Americans.

We should be thankful for the left, its assaults on us are teaching us how to fight and its plots against our freedom are teaching us how to be free.

An applicable oft used quote.

Attributed to Alexander Tytler (Scottish lawyer and political writer in the late 1700s):

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

  • From bondage to spiritual faith;
  • From spiritual faith to great courage;
  • From courage to liberty;
  • From liberty to abundance;
  • From abundance to selfishness;
  • From selfishness to complacency;
  • From complacency to apathy;
  • From apathy to dependence;
  • From dependence back into bondage.

It will be interesting to see what stage in the cycle we're in (I suspect we're moving from the 7th to the 8th) and whether we can get back to liberty without having to go through the bondage stage. Keep in mind that three million Republicans sat on their backsides Tuesday.

Hopefully God is giving the Democrats everything they want so they can finally destroy themselves (hopefully without destroying all of us).

All that is left is to pray.

Report: No Obama Gutsy Call in Benghazi

by Ben Shapiro 26 Oct 2012, 10:20 AM PDT

After President Obama made the right move to authorize the mission to kill Osama Bin Laden, the left went apoplectic with smugness. “Gutsy Call” trended on Twitter. The phrase became a stand-in for Obama’s disastrous foreign policy. This, the meme went, was Obama’s foreign policy – he was a guy who made “gutsy calls.”

Now, the truth of the matter is that every American president – without exception, including Jimmy Carter – would have made the call to get Bin Laden. But when it came to a situation requiring a true gutsy call – authorizing American military forces to enter Libya to save our ambassador in Benghazi – President Obama voted present.

According to sources on the ground in Benghazi during the terrorist attack of September 11, Americans at the CIA annex in the region requested military back-up urgently. The request was denied by US officials. The Americans then asked twice for authorization to go help the ambassador. They were denied, twice.

So finally, these heroes disobeyed orders and went to the consulate. They exchanged fire with the terrorists. And then evacuated remaining Americans at the consulate. They couldn’t find the ambassador.

A few hours later, they returned to the consulate. Again, they asked for military support. The request was denied. Again. According to Fox News:

The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Spectre gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours -- enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

Meanwhile, an American drone was watching the entire proceeding. And according to Charles Woods, father of killed ex-Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, “apparently the White House situation room was watching our people die in real time, as this was happening.”

No gutsy call. Four Americans dead. This is the true Obama foreign policy: when in doubt, vote present.

"Bar Stool Economics" helps to explain taxes Obama-style!

Found this earlier today on another good conservative blog and it does a good job of explaining how taxes work in our "progressive" tax system.

Every time I hear the phrase "tax cuts for the rich" or "pay for tax cuts" or worse "pay for tax cuts for the rich" I have to fight the urge to start yelling obscenities (sometimes I fail to fight those urges ... thankfully Cheryl has the patience of a saint).

This story will help explain why.

BAR STOOL ECONOMICS

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.

The sixth would pay $3.

The seventh would pay $7.

The eighth would pay $12.

The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers, he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. Drinks for the ten now cost just $80'.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. What happens to the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).

The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10!'

'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!'

'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!'

'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!'

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important.

They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction.

Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore.

In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

(I tried using the Report.us embedding thingy but I couldn't figure it out, so apologies to Michael Haltman)

Republican War on Women?

Methinks miliberals doth protest too much.

Obama's Female Debate Coach (and all around Mao fan) says: The White House a "Hostile Workplace"

Romney may have had to refer to a "binder full of women" to find qualified women to serve in his administration in Mass, but at least he treated them well once they got there.

Time and time again we find that its the liberals and "progressives" that are the very thing they always accuse conservatives and Republicans of being; racists, sexists, bigots, discriminators and oppressors.

How Obama and Allies Are Suppressing News of Economic Disaster Ahead

The Democrat/Media Complex is constantly lying to us in order to support "their boy" Barack (but this is nothing new, they lied to support "their boy" Bill and "their boy" Teddy all the way back to "their boy" Franklin).

Good read on Front Page Magazine about the latest set of lies about the economy.

A reminder

Recently I've been reminded of one of the more annoying of leftist tactics.

There really is no debate with these people, all their "arguments" are either built upon straw men or are designed not to exchange points of view but just to get you to shut up.

Andrew Klavan says it well:

So just remember, next time you stop yourself from engaging in debate (or simply "liking" something on Facebook) because you don't want to face the obnoxious "shut-uppery" from the left, you're letting them win.

Only about 20% of the population are leftists. 40% are conservatives with the final 40% being "independents" but the shear volume of "shut-up!" you see on a daily basis in media and in the culture you'd think they were 80%. And that's what they want you to believe. The big lie that the left is the majority is the biggest "Shut Up" of them all.

So next time you run into one of these 20%ers and they start ranting in your face trying to get you to shut up, don't sink to their level but do stand firm.

Watch them eat their own.

Get some popcorn folks, this could be interesting (although we know the MSM will sweep this down the memory hole as fast as possible).

Of course since the MSM leaked this guys name, address, photos of his house, his car, etc. He may not live long (who am I kidding, the Muslims are cowards, Ann Barnhardt has posted directions from DIA to her front door in response to Muslim death threats and nobody has taken her up on it ... too bad they haven't because she's a FrontSight graduate and it would probably make for an entertaining news story).

More Obama narcissism and arrogance on display

Source - Commentary Magazine

Obama Drops His Name Into the Other Presidential Biographies

Many of President Obama’s fervent devotees are young enough not to have much memory of the political world before the arrival of The One. Coincidentally, Obama himself feels the same way—and the White House’s official website reflects that.

The Heritage Foundation’s Rory Cooper tweeted that Obama had casually dropped his own name into Ronald Reagan’s official biography on www.whitehouse.gov, claiming credit for taking up the mantle of Reagan’s tax reform advocacy with his “Buffett Rule” gimmick. My first thought was, he must be joking. But he wasn’t—it turns out Obama has added bullet points bragging about his own accomplishments to the biographical sketches of every single U.S. president since Calvin Coolidge (except, for some reason, Gerald Ford). Here are a few examples:

  • On Feb. 22, 1924 Calvin Coolidge became the first president to make a public radio address to the American people. President Coolidge later helped create the Federal Radio Commission, which has now evolved to become the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). President Obama became the first president to hold virtual gatherings and town halls using Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.
  • In a 1946 letter to the National Urban League, President Truman wrote that the government has “an obligation to see that the civil rights of every citizen are fully and equally protected.” He ended racial segregation in civil service and the armed forces in 1948. Today the Obama administration continues to strive toward upholding the civil rights of its citizens, repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, allowing people of all sexual orientations to serve openly in our armed forces.
  • President Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare signed (sic) into law in 1965—providing millions of elderly healthcare stability. President Obama’s historic health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act, strengthens Medicare, offers eligible seniors a range of preventive services with no cost-sharing, and provides discounts on drugs when in the coverage gap known as the “donut hole.”
  • In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule.
I imagine Bill Clinton will be especially receptive to Obama’s habit of shoehorning himself into the limelight previously occupied by others. As you can see, the bullet points make clear that while each president has done something historic or notable, Obama is carrying forward every one of those accomplishments since Coolidge. No wonder he always seems so proud of himself.

If you want to see these for yourself, go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/presidents and read the presidents' bios for yourself. I suspect if this story gets any traction (its already up on Breitbart) we'll see these entries edited. -Z

Love Thy Neighbor

Its a command, not a suggestion and probably one of the commands from God that we all struggle with the most (which is bad for us because Christ said it was THE MOST IMPORTANT command from God).

Well here's an example of what happens when Christians take this command to heart and actually live it. Not just by loving our Christian brothers and sisters or the poor or the downtrodden but otherwise nice folk, but by loving an honest to God self proclaimed enemy.

source (go there to read the whole story)

A few months ago Patrick Greene was an atheist who was threatening to sue Henderson County, Texas, if the county didn't remove a Nativity scene from its courthouse lawn. Today he is a believer in Christ who underwent a radical change of heart that was catalyzed by the compassion of one Christian woman.

Not all youth are mind numbed leftists

When about 300 Sheboygan Lutheran High School students and supporters piled into the rotunda of the State Capitol in Madison last Thursday after the boys basketball team clinched a trip to the finals for the Division 5 WIAA state championship, they had some time to spare.

Sharing the rotunda with a small group of pro-union demonstrators singing songs, the Lutheran High group broke into spontaneous cheers “Stand with Walker!” interspersed with cries of “LHS! LHS!” and the Common Doxology.

The resulting furor since the event has surprised school officials and state Sen. Joe Leibham, a Lutheran High alumnus who invited the group to the Capitol for a photo with the team and a celebratory reception.

“Friday morning, we had a couple of nasty phone calls all of a sudden,” said Jim Pingel, Lutheran’s executive director. “People identified themselves as union leaders, protesters. They were passive-aggressive, menacing.”

Liberal activists called the school to complain, and conservative talk radio hosts have spent days discussing the students’ actions. Charlie Sykes of WTMJ-AM in Milwaukee wrote in an online blog post that the students “decided to fight back against the anti-Walker sentiment they were witnessing during an impromptu visit.”

Liberals and union thugs can't take it when the youth don't mark in lockstep with them. They can't stand the idea that anyone other than leftists would dare use their tactic of protest.

Hopefully as this video goes viral, they don't escalate things with the usual threats of violence and attempts to smear and ruin these kids and their school.

Just remember folks, STAND UP whenever you can (peacefully and lawfully of course). You never know when it'll make a difference.

More than just the best policy.

Honesty and ethics in business practices aren't just a good idea. Not just a way to keep one's self in good graces with God, but they truly are the best way to engage in one's business.

And its not just on a personal or business level, but its even true (and probably MORE true) on a national level.

Once upon a time we (the United States) were run by Godly men who valued honesty, ethics and most of all the idea that we are a nation of LAW not a nation of MEN. Today we're run by an oligarchy of thieves and gangsters and soon we will either have to change and return to our God fearing days or be destroyed by our own sin.

Ann Barnhardt posted an interesting tidbit back in May of 09 (when the Federal government bent over GM's bondholders, stole the value of their stock and handed GM over to the UAW like the Marxist Mafiosos that we all know Obama and his ilk are).

I came across a FASCINATING historical tidbit today on the internet. Historians regard the year 1811 as the year that the United States matured from fledgling former colony into global industrial and moral power. Do you know why? In 1811 tensions were building between the U.S. and British. We were on the run‐up to the War of 1812. While this was going on, the First Bank of the United States, founded by Alexander Hamilton in 1791, was liquidated because its original 20‐year charter expired. Many of the bondholders of this bank were . . . British. There was enormous political pressure, given the hostility and tensions with the British, to give the British bondholders the shaft and pocket that money to help finance the coming war. The leaders of First Bank refused to go along with the desires of the politicians and repaid every penny of their debt, including their British creditors. Why did they do this? Because it was the LAW. The Rule of Law came first to these men.

This one act of integrity had a cascading effect that essentially set the course of this nation and its economy for the next 198 years. Word quickly spread throughout the business districts of Europe that the words "Backed By The Full Faith And Credit Of The United States Government" meant something, and meant something real. European investment dollars came pouring in to the "fledgling former colony", the industrial revolution was born, and The United States of America that we all know and love was born. We are literally the children of integrity, the children of "full faith".

That era ended earlier this week. Without the rule of law, the words "full faith and credit of the government of the United States" are meaningless words. And, just as money came flowing in 198 years ago, money will now go flowing out. Our government is now fascist and is run by gangsters who would not know integrity if they were being beaten over the head with it.

    God help us.

Either we return to the Christian roots this nation was found upon (among which honesty, integrity and ethical business practices are a part) or we will join Rome, Greece (ancient and modern) and every other "great" culture on the ash heap of history.

God help us indeed.
