Declaration of Independence-Third Installment

He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved representative houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the legislative powers, incapable of annihilation, have returned to the people at large for their exercise; the state remaining in the meantime exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

Frugal Shopping Tip-Eight O'Clock Coffee

Wanted to share this shopping tip with everyone. If you are a coffee lover this coffee is for you. I can get Eight O'Clock Coffee (12 oz.) at Walmart for $3.99. Now mind you it is whole beans, so you will need to grind it. If you do not have a coffee grinder I would just open the bag, dump the coffee beans into the store's coffee grinder and put it back into the same bag. They have a variety of flavors but each store may be different.

Declaration of Independence-Second Installment

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. --Such has been the patient sufferance of these colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of government. Blame Bush?

Lots of people on the left say, "Obama is just cleaning up after Bush."

But the thing to remember is that it is congress that spends the money. Democrats have been in control of congress since 2006. Two years before all the economic troubles started.

Further more, the mortgage industry collapse was really caused by the Community Reinvestment Act (signed by Pres. Carter strengthened by Pres. Clinton) and abuses at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Democrats stopped Pres. Bush from increasing regulations on Freddie and Fannie.

Bush's fault indeed.

Puerto Rico One Step Closer to Being a State

This is in reference to a previous post about the vote today in the House (HR2499).

It passed the House 223 to 169 and now it must be taken up by the Senate. If your Congressman voted in favor of this bill I highly recommend you politely leave them a voicemail, email or write a letter registering your displeasure and remind them they work for you.

It has NOT gone to the Senate yet. So again please contact them (your Senators) and let them know you would like them to vote "NO." If you do not know how to find the contact information, please let me know thru a private email and I will get it for you.

Yesterday in Quincy, IL there was a tea party rally where the President was to speak.

Obama ordered SWAT teams, riot police and police snipers to cover the "dangerous" Tea Party protesters.

Declaration of Independence-First Installment

Each day I am going to post a paragraph of the Declaration of Independence. Starting at the beginning until we get to the end. I myself know parts of it but not the whole document. In order to absorb it fully I would like to do it in sections. So here we go...

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

Founding Father's Friday on Glenn Beck

Glenn is introducing a new series on TV: FOUNDING FATHER'S FRIDAY. All the good, the bad and the ugly from the men who founded the greatest nation on Earth. This Friday learn more about the amazing Samuel Adams, who once said: "Nothing is more essential to the establishment of manners in a State than that all persons employed in places of power and trust be men of unexceptionable characters. The public cannot be too curious concerning the character of public men."

I personally feel a little guilty for not knowing that much about our founding fathers. Glenn Beck has been talking about this all week. So I especially plan on watching each friday to learn more about them. Hope that you too will watch. His show comes on here in Colorado at 3:00pm and again at midnight. But here is his times in case you are not in Colorado 5p & 2a ET (4:00pm and 1:00am Central) on the Fox News Channel. I realize most of you work, so I hope you will tape it or DVR it.

Sneaky ain't they?

Puerto Rico – 51st State? Congress Scrambling to Make it So

If this happens two things would happen:

1) There would be two new Senate seats (I'm sure they would go to Dems) and there would be several more house seats.
2) Since Puerto Rico's "official language" is Spanish, that would instantly make America an officially bi-lingual nation (actually it might make the ONLY "official" language of the United States Spanish since English is NOT currently our "official language" as we have no official language).

The Puerto Ricans have voted against citizenship every time its been brought up, however this time around the bill would force Puerto Rico to decide either to become a full US State OR they're on their own as an independent nation (they can't afford their own welfare system so they might actually vote for statehood this time around).

Mojave Memorial Cross for WWI Veterans

In 1934, WWI Veterans erected a monument to honor their comrades who had died in battle. The ACLU now wants to tear it down, and all public memorials like it, because of its religious imagery. The land was originally public land. Congress enacted a series of laws which culminated in a land exchange that transferred its ownership from the Parks Service to the VFW. This means the cross is now on privately held land...land owned by the VFW.

UPDATE: The Supreme Court released its decision today in a 5-4 vote. So as of now it can stay.

Costly IRS Mandate Slipped into Health Bill

Cato has an interesting article on one of the dozens (hundreds? thousands?) of crazy things included in the Health Care Bill that nobody read before voting on and signing into law.

In essence this one forces businesses to issue 1099s whenever they do more than $600 of business with another entity in a year. For those of you running small businesses, just how much more work is this going to be for you? you'll be sending 1099s to your landlord, to OfficeDepot, to the electric company, to ANYONE you do more than $600 business with (whereas now 1099s are only sent to outside contractors).

Regardless of how you feel about this bill being signed in AZ. This post is more about the unjust treatment of the Tea Party in the media. You have a 1st amendment right to protest. But the first amendment says peacefully.

My last post on Facebook

Some of you may have been wondering why on my last post on Facebook that I was chuckling at the end at something. Wondering if someone would un-friend me before 9:00pm when I shut my account down. My brother and his wife (who happen to live in Massachusetts, where I think by law you HAVE to be a very liberal person to live there) both join the fan page, "Stop blaming Barack Obama for George W. Bush's mistakes." They did this right after my post. I assume that was suppose to be some childish poke back at me. That is okay, I actually thought it was funny that my post bothered them. My brother has said some rather nasty things about Republicans on Facebook. He now knows officially what I am, so the ball is in his court. To me blood is thicker then politics, but I am not sure it is with him. I said nothing nasty or hateful with my last post or any other post political. But I felt it was time to declare exactly who I am and what I stand for. He or his wife are not on my blog.
